1. AVS Forum very high quality DIY speaker thread. Fabric frame thread.
2. One projection screen material test.

4. Use particle board instead of MDF to avoid splitting while nailing. Sandman also mentions some health related issues to avoid MDF.

7. Use stapled industrial strength Velcro to hang the fiber optic star panels, or use Brad nailer with finishing nails to secure the panels to the furring stripes.

Sandmans Home Theater Construction

I start to read Sandmans home theater construction thread at AVS Forum. Here are some notes:
1. For starfield ceiling DIY materials, check here.
2. Another source for Green Glue and soundproofing information.
3. For better soundproofing, use staggered-stud walls to prevent direct structural vibration passage through studs. Use 2"x4" for studs and 2"x6" for outer frames.
4. For better sound proofing, add fiber glass R-19 insulation between the studs, insulation is good for attenuation in the mid to high frequency range.
5. Application of RSIC-1 resillent sound isolation clips. The following images are from here.

6. Use 2 5/8" drywalls with Green Glue in between.

Dishwasher Drain Hose Connection

Our dishwasher is connected according to the following diagram except that the sink drain and dishwasher drain outlets are connected in the horizontal portion of the drain pipe. When the dishwasher is not used for long time, its P-trap may get clogged.
